Switzerland has extended its blacklist of online gambling operators. The Swiss Lottery and Betting Board (Comlot) has added 16 new online gambling sites to the list of blacklisted online gambling portals.
Earlier in September, Switzerland released a long list of 65 domains of online gambling sites that were barred from operating in the country. With the updated list, the number of blacklisted domains by the Swiss authority has reached 81.
Among those blacklisted are top gambling companies like Bet365, Betclic Everest Group, and Unibet. Several German brands including my bet, XTiP, and Cashpoint have also been put into a blacklist.
Esports betting operators such as Unikrn and GG.bet have also been blocked.
Switzerland’s new Federal Act on Real-Money Gaming (Geldspielgesetz) prohibits online gambling operators from operating in the country without having a license. The gambling operators seeking a Swiss online gambling license can do so only by entering into a partnership with locally licensed gambling facilities.
Following the new gambling regulations, Switzerland’s Grand Casino Luzern was the first to get approval for online gambling operations.
After Grand Casino Luzern, Red Tiger Gaming also launched its online gaming operations in partnership with Grand Casino Baden. Red Tiger released 19 games with Grand Casino Baden’s online site.
