Konami's Fortune Cup Makes Its Debut In Macau

Konami’s horse racing machine, “Fortune Cup” has been installed and is currently operating in two prominent casinos in Macau.

This horse racing game has been developed by Konami Australia Pty Ltd. The number of units of Fortune Cup that have been installed in the city’s casinos have not been specified. The names of venues have not been disclosed as well.

Fortune Cup is a “multi-station” horse-racing game and it combines traditional arcade horse-racing games with digital technology for betting and game presentation. The race track in the game js 274 centimetres wide and accommodates eight horse figures. There are 12 terminals for players where they can place bets and view statistics and horse odds.

A large LCD screen is provided to offer spectators with real-time sports broadcasts. Chinese-language commentary, that is audible during the game, has been jointly produced by APE and Hong Kong horse racing commentator Sammo Hung.

Hideo Goto, the international sales manager at Konami Australia, said in an announcement,“Macau is a market we have been eager to expand into. Konami Australia is very excited to partner with our Macau distributor APE to install the Fortune Cup machines in these two casinos. I look forward to rolling out Fortune Cup to more casinos in future.”

Herman Ng, the chief director and executive director of APE group said that Fortune Cup will be one of the most popular casino games in 2019, in Macau.

Mr Ng remarked, “Fortune Cup is an electronic table game that is the only one of its kind in Macau. We are getting a lot of positive feedback from operators of this arcade-style horse racing game from casino floors.”
