Loyalty and commitment in a work environment need to be awarded and Macau Casino operator MGM Chine Holdings Ltd has acted upon this. On Wednesday, 6th of March this year, the Macau Casino Operator took it to the public about raising the salary of its non-management employees. The salary increment will take effect as from 18th of March 2019 as announced during the press release of the company to appreciate its staff members.
The qualified non-management employees who earn MOP16, 000 that is $2000 monthly will have an additional MOP600 to their salary at the end of the month. The increase ranges from 3.8% to 7.1% as described by MGM China. Additionally, the firm said that those in the team earning more than MOP16, 000 per month will earn 2.5% above their salary.
On the press release, there is a statement by the chief executive of MGM China, Grant Bowie explaining their action. He said that they will carry on with pervading in their team to nurture their growth as well as advancing their skills by laying down the perfect opportunities for them to grow in the career as the company grows.
However, the number of employees that will enjoy this rise is not yet known.
A number of other Macau casino operators also announced openly that the staff away from senior management category will benefit from the 2019 wage hikes.
Sometime in the middle of January, Sands China Ltd announced to the public about the 2019 salary increment making it the first Macau operator to make the announcement this year. The rise would be effectual as from March 1st. Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd followed with their 2019 pay hike for the entitled non-management employees’ announcement towards the end of January, 2019.
Wynn Macau Ltd, Macau market contender took it to the public in February about the pay increment for the staff without including senior management. Around the same time, Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd also made it public that it will be increasing the salary for all its employees.
On 6th March, MGM China was celebrating the first anniversary of MGM Cotai, second possession in Macau that began last year in February. The maximized performance of the Cotai Possession was attributed to the high numbers of the 4th quarter of 2018 income of the MGM China. This amounted to HKD5.38 billion ($685.1M). There are changes reported as two of their directors left the company.
