According to a report published in The Korea Times, the paradise city casino resort had to be evacuated for hours as a fire broke out at around 3:16 pm on Sunday, earlier this week.
While no injuries have been reported so far, the Incheon fire department rushed to the scene and evacuated around 280 people present at the facility when the fire broke. With 38 fire engines and 200 firefighters at the casino resort, the fire was controlled in time and before it could spread to other parts of the facility.
The cause for the fire is still not known, and an investigation has been initiated. It is being said that the fire started at a woman spa; however, there was no one there when it happened.
For the customers and the guests at the resort who had to stay out while the fire department cleared the property, the resort provided them with a free meal and also a breakfast for Monday morning and a free stay gift voucher.
In a report published by GGRAsia, the company officials said that “The fire affected almost nothing [in terms of] the casino operation and there will be no stop [to] casino operations.”
The damages at the facility were estimated at around KRW88 million (US$80,000).
While it was a minor incident, it still raises questions on the safety features of the Casino. It is a foreigner-only casino resort, and the Sunday fire may impact customer turnaround.
