First Online Gambling Sites In Pennsylvania To Begin Operations From July 15

It was in October 2107 that Pennsylvania had legalized online gambling; however, online gambling sites are yet to take off. Pennsylvania was also the fourth state only after New Jersey, Delaware, and Nevada to legalize sports betting.

According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the first batch of online gambling sites and online casinos will be live from July 15. There are a total of 13 land-based licensed casinos operating in the state. Seven of the licensed gambling operators have already secured licenses to begin operations online with casino and poker games.

The casinos which would be offering online gambling include Harrah’s, Hollywood, Mount Airy, Mohegan Sun Pocono, Parx, Presque Isle, Rivers, SugarHouse and Valley Forge.

Earlier at, we had reported that online gambling could begin in Pennsylvania from July 15. It is now confirmed, and the state gambling commission has said that everything is working as planned.

While it is not yet confirmed which brands would go online first, it is expected that brands like PokerStars and The Stars Group Incorporated would be amongst the pioneers of online gambling in the state. It is also expected that PartyPoker a famous online gaming brand would go live with Valley Forge Casino.

Earlier, in April the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania had struck down a part of the gambling expansion bill which was signed in October 2017.

The apex court ruled that the provision in the law which allowed the state to collect 0.5 percent of all slot revenues from casinos to fund a Casino Marketing and Capital Development Account be struck off.
