32-year-old US rapper, Meek Mill has said that he was kicked out of the Cosmopolitan hotel-casino. Mil said that he, along with two members of his security, were not permitted to enter the gambling venue at about 3:30 p.m. on May 25. He also alleged that they were threatened not to get out of the car and that if they did so, they would be arrested.
Mill also claims that the guards had no answer to why they were not allowed or to why they would be arrested.
Calling the incident discrimination towards rappers, Mill’s lawyer has said that it was a planned policy to keep rappers out of the hotels and casinos.
Also, Mill went on to call the incident racist and alleged that it was a racist behavior on the part of the Cosmopolitan hotel and casino.
It is also reported that the US rap-star’s lawyer has written a letter which reads: “…we have learned that the Cosmopolitan maintains a list of African American recording artists who should be denied access for no other reason than their culture and skin color.”
In response to the allegations the Cosmopolitan said in a statement to the press: As a matter of company policy, we do not comment on legal matters. Our guests’ safety and security always remain our top priority.
