SugarHouse casino in Pennsylvania has become the first land-based casino to launch online sports betting in the state. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has sanctioned the SugarHouse casino to start with their testing phase and then move on to a full-scale launch of online sports betting.
The casino would have to test their App and online sports betting site before launching its sports betting services. As a part of the live testing,, the casino had the online option live on their website between 4 pm and 12 am on Tuesday.
According to the reports, the company will have more such online testing sessions on Wednesday and Thursday before they launch full-scale online sports betting. At the earliest, the sports betting could live on the website on Friday.
In a statement to the press, the Gaming Board spokesman Richard McGarvey said: “It’s not intended to be a large rollout where many people come to the site. They were ready; first, they came to us, and we’ve been working with them for weeks. We felt from everything we saw, they were ready to do this test period.”
