Scheduled to open on June 23, the Encore Boston Harbor, the casino resort in Everett has got slot machines installed at the facility.
Following the inspection and other formalities, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission has announced that Encore Boston Harbor will get 3,158 electronic slot machines, 88 poker tables, and 143 table games.
Gaming Commission chairman, Cathy Judd-Stein has said that they have made sure that all gaming policies and procedures are taken care of and he also reiterated the commission’s commitment to ensuring compliance and high standards of consumer protection.
The gaming commission also said that the operator is required to have a minimum of 80 percent payout during the game cycle. The slot machines will use Random number generator software for payouts.
Wynn’s Encore Boston Harbor has been embroiled in controversy following a $35 million fine slapped by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for not reporting allegations of sexual misconduct against the company’s former CEO Steve Wynn.
At one point, Wynn was also considering selling the Encore Casino to MGM; however, citing stakeholders’ concerns and regulatory provisions MGM said that they have pulled out of any such talks.
Also, the casino operator has secured permission to serve alcoholic beverages until 4 am. It has been criticized by many as the usual permission allows gambling facilities to serve alcoholic beverages only until 2 am.
