SugarHouse Casino To Rebrand As Rivers Casino Philadelphia

Philadelphia’s SugarHouse Casino has said that they would rebrand as Rivers Casino Philadelphia this fall. The parent company, Rush Street Gaming, announced the rebranding plan in a statement issued to the press.

The strategic move is to align the SugarHouse casino brand with the company’s other properties in Pittsburgh, Schenectady, New York, and Des Plaines, Illinois.

The SugarHouse casino secured its license in 2006. Earlier, the casino also successfully completed a $164 million expansion, which almost increased the size of the gambling facility by 200 percent from 90,000 square feet to 260,000 square feet.

Rush Street Gaming CEO Greg Carlin said Wednesday that “gaming in Pennsylvania has evolved tremendously” and that “keeping pace with the changing landscape has been paramount to our success.”

Last year in December, by launching sports betting, the SugarHouse casino also became the first casino in the state to offer sports gambling.
The rebranding plan also includes upgrading the gambling establishment in terms of adding amenities and improving the gambling infrastructure.

The company is also all set to launch online gambling once approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission. Online gambling and mobile sports betting are soon to be launched in Pennsylvania.
