River Spirit Casino Resort is all set to reopen 10 days earlier than scheduled. The casino resort will start welcoming guests from 8 a.m. on June 21. However, the casino resort’s riverside pool would be open to the public only after mid-July – the casino officials announced on Thursday.
The gambling venue has been shut since May 22 following the flooding of Arkansas River which created problems for the venue.
Earlier the tribal officials managing the casino had said that they would be opening the casino resort by the end of the month. However now with everything in place, the gambling venue is opening up 10 days earlier than scheduled.
Chief executive officer, Pat Crofts said: “You probably have all seen some videos. They look terrible. Quite honestly, very little water got into the building.
“All of the damage was contained on the lower level of the facility, or our pool deck, down to the lower levels.”
The officials also said that there have been over 400 workers working on the site after the flooding as they were cleaning the exterior and the parking areas.
“Our first commitment is to our employees, and so with the support of River Spirit, we committed to paying all employees during this closure Principal Chief James Floyd, added.
