The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned four gambling adverts which appeared in the Looney Tunes App as it found the ads to be violating the guidelines set for advertising gambling products and offers. The gambling ads were found to be appealing to children and targeting them through the app.
The gambling operators which featured ads targeting children on the app are LottoGo EuroMillions, Betfair Bingo, William Hill Vegas, and Dunder. The ASA has warned the operators and has also asked them to remove the advert. They have also been asked not to republish the advert.
The Ads were featured in an App which offered a game with cartoon characters and deemed to be appealing to children. Though the gambling operators have said that it was not intentional, the ASA maintained that these adverts should be removed and that there should have been better vetting mechanism.
It is not the first time that ASA has banned gambling adverts which have been violating the guidelines.
Earlier in May, the Uk’S Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned an advertisement run by the Mr. Monopoly Online Casino after it found them the ad to be appealing to children.
Also, recently the ASA banned a William hill advert for attributing sexual success to gambling. The Ad called for the Tinder users to sign up with William Hill because once they sign up, they would not stay ‘stuck in the friend zone.’
