Finland’s state-owned gambling monopoly, Veikkaus has partnered with Swedish gaming content developer NetEnt to add new content to its arsenal of games.
Veikkaus has been struggling amidst competition from overseas gambling regulators. H2 Gambling Capital, a gambling consultancy firm estimates that Finnish players wagered over €286 million euros on offshore websites. This market is expanding and could cross €300 million this year. As such, the gambling monopoly is looking to increase the range of offerings to keep maximum market share.
Following the partnership deal with NetEnt, Veikkaus customers will now have access to NetEnt’s portfolio of games including top titles like Starburst, Gonzo’s Guest, Twin Spin and Viking. Customers will also have access to NetEnt’S jackpot Divine Fortune.
Jan Hagelberg, head of the casino games business group at Veikkaus, said: “NetEnt’s games are already familiar to many classics from other online casinos. In addition, NetEnt is constantly publishing new high quality and entertaining games.
“Our customers have been asking for NetEnt games for a long time, and it’s great that we can now offer them.”
Earlier in April Veikkaus had announced that it would invest 8 million euros in online casino games. The gambling operator announced fresh investments to diversify the online gaming portfolio and cater to the varied tastes of casino players in the country.
