Is Encore Boston Harbor Casino Cheating Customers Of Winnings?

After the Massachusetts Gaming Commission released the first week’s revenue report of Wynn’s new Encore Boston Harbor casino, a class action lawsuit has been filed claiming the casino is cheating customers of their winnings.

According to the figures released by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission Encore Boston Harbor casino grossed $16.7 million in its opening week. On the other hand, MGM Springfield generated $19.9 million gross revenue for the entire month. Wynn’s Boston casino started welcoming guests from June 23.

The lawsuit has been filed by one New Yorker Richard Schuster. Schuster has said that Everett casino is paying out less for certain winning hands at blackjack and rounding down payouts from slot machines. He filed a lawsuit on Monday in Middlesex County Superior Court.

Responding to the accusations of cheating customers Wynn Resorts said that their operational procedures were approved by state gambling regulators and follow state regulations.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission says it’s reviewing the suit, reports associated press.

In a recent meet on the occasion of annual analyst and investor day at the newly opened Encore Boston Harbor Casino, the gambling operator said that they believe that their revenue will grow by 22 percent in the next two years and its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) will increase by 28%.

It should also be noted that the new casino has been embroiled in controversy. Just before the opening of the casino, subcontractors claimed that the gambling operator owes them in millions for additional work beyond the stipulated contract.

Wynn Resorts have also been fined $20 million and $35 million by Both Nevada Gaming Commission and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission after they found that the allegations of sexual misconduct against its former CEO Steve Wynn were not reported.
