The National Council on Problem Gambling’s (NCPG) 33rd conference for addiction and responsible gambling is taking place in Denver. The NCPG is the country’s top organization that works towards creating awareness about safe gambling practices and also helps people who are affected by problem gambling and gambling addiction.
“The NCPG National Conference on Gambling Addiction & Responsible Gambling serves as a hub, bringing together stakeholders & leaders to educate, innovate, and engage,” said Keith Whyte, Executive Director of NCPG.
“As the leader for awareness & advocacy about problem gambling, NCPG is thrilled to co-host this annual event with the Problem Gambling Coalition of Colorado (PGCC).”
In a statement to the press, the NCPG said that “The NCPG 33rd National Conference on Gambling Addiction & Responsible Gambling is the premier educational and networking event for problem gambling and responsible gambling professionals in the country. There are hundreds of attendees connecting with 150+ thought leaders on hot topics, such as sports betting, tribal gambling, responsible gambling & regulation, military & gambling, prevention, and treatment & recovery.”
“Building off NCPG recent successes, such as our leadership in introducing the bipartisan, bicameral Gambling Addiction Prevention Act, the NCPG Conference of 2019 provides the perfect platform to educate, innovate, and engage.”
Last week, the NCPG welcomed the reintroduction of the bipartisan Gambling Addiction Prevention Act of 2019. The revised GAP act calls for developing policies and programs to tackle the issues of compulsive gambling and also take steps towards the treatment of gambling problems. The responsibility is extended to the Department of Defense, and it would have to work in coordination with its other behavioral health efforts.
