Luis Sánchez Serrano has been appointed as director of technology and digitalization of the gambling giant Codere Group.
Though new to the gambling industry, Serrano has an extensive background in banking. He would be reporting to the Codere’s chief executive Vicente Di Loreto.
Serrano held senior positions with Liberbank, Bankinter and Banco Espirito Santo, in which he delivered on transformation projects, including innovation and digitalization of each organization.
“This appointment strengthens our team and consolidates the strategy of change and transformation undertaken in our group to continue fulfilling our commitment to the client and creating value,” Di Loreto said.
Earlier in April, Codere made a number of changes in its organizational structure, and the new appointment is a part of the company’s strategy.
With the new organizational structure, Codere believes that it would significantly improve its operational capabilities.
Earlier in April, the Codere Group received a setback after a Mexican tribunal ruled that they can’t open other 45 new casino establishments in the country.
The Mexican federal tribunal has turned down the company’s plea to allow them to offer new casino licenses as it revoked the exclusive exemption which allowed them to license gambling properties following orders from the Ministry of Interior.
The Codere Group operates a total of 95 gambling venues in Mexico.
