The Mississippi Gaming Commission on Thursday approved a new casino site in Hancock county. The approval was granted to Cure LandCompany’s proposed gaming site in Lakeshore. It is being seen as a significant development towards a new casino in the area.
Cure Land’s casino site is located on South Beach Boulevard, near the Silver Slipper Casino.
Earlier on March 6, 2019, the company announced its site for the casino through a legal notice. Revealing the plans for the new casino, the company said it would develop a casino with 40,000 square feet of gaming space, 1100 slot machines, and 22 table games.
The company has also confirmed that they are planning to develop a 300-room hotel on 98.5 acres on South Beach Boulevard Mississippi is amongst the few US states that have launched sports betting operations after the US supreme court legalized sports betting last year.
Despite an excellent performance by the state’s coastal casinos in March, according to the figures posted by the Mississippi Gaming Commission, the sports betting revenue fell by 42.1 percent month-on-month in May. The total revenue generated by the newly regulated sports betting market in the state could not cross the $1.2 million mark.
