Indiana Gaming Commission Releases List Of Sports Available For Betting

The Indiana Gaming Commission released on Tuesday published a list of sports which would be available for sports bettors at licensed gambling establishments in the state.

While bettors would be able to wager on popular sports including baseball, basketball, and football, comparatively less popular games like bowling and professional darts would also be available for betting.

The Gaming Commission released the full list and confirmed that sports betting would be available at ten of the state’s 12 casinos and at three off-track betting locations which have been given temporary sports betting license for retail betting operations.

Earlier in May, Gov. Eric Holcomb signed the sports betting legalization bill making Indiana join the club of states which have legalized sports betting this year.

Indiana is planning to launch full-scale sports betting operations by September 1 before the start of the NFL season. However, some state officials and experts doubt that sports betting could be launched within that time frame.

Bettors in Indiana would be able to place wagers on NFL, NBA, MLB, collegiate sports, professional golf, soccer, the Summer and Winter Olympics, boxing, tennis, and UFC, among others.

Indiana is yet to formulate regulation which would govern the state’s newly regulated sports betting market.
A meeting is scheduled for August 28 and it is expected that there could be a significant development in formulating new regulations.
