Gaming technology services provider, International Game Technology Plc (IGT) has made a fresh appointed Dr. Samantha Ravich as its corporate advisor. The company confirmed her appointment who would be joining IGT as an Independent Director.
Dr. Ravich is an expert in national security development, political science, and cybersecurity defense measures. At present, she is also serving as the Chair of the Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation at the ‘Foundation for Defense of Democracies’, leading research at the ‘Transformative Cyber Innovation Lab’.
Her role at IGT is to take charge as governance and leadership advisor on cybersecurity, compliance, and stakeholder management dynamics, impacting the disrupted global gambling landscape.
Dr. Ravich is also a member of the US Council on Foreign Relations and has further advised the US Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense.
Announcing the new appointment, Lorenzo Pellicioli, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of IGT said: “Samantha’s extensive experience and focus on cybersecurity are welcome complements to the existing expertise of our board members. We look forward to working with her.”
Earlier this year in May, the London-based gambling technology company has posted a $40 million net income for the first quarter of 2019. IGT attributed the rise in its quarterly income to the strong demand for its physical gaming machines and global lottery offerings, including online casino and gambling services.
