The Japan Casino Administration Committee has been announced as the custodian of the country’s potential gaming and gambling administration. The powers of the committee have been revealed.
According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, a four-member committee will be in charge of “casino licensing and operator oversight.”
The new committee would be monitoring the three integrated casinos which have been announced for the first phase.
“That committee will additionally be accountable for assuring the government that each casino licensee has adequate programs to combat gambling addiction, and any other antisocial consequences the casinos might bring. The administration will have the power to issue fines and suspensions against casinos and any third-party businesses found to be in violation of a regulatory condition.”
The licensing process of the new casinos is to be finalized by the National Diet which would work upon the recommendations of the Casino Administration Committee.
The names of the members to the new committee are yet to be announced.
Earlier, the Osaka Prefecture already revealed the names of the companies which have applied for a casino license.
Top gambling operators from across the globe are eyeing the Casino market in Japan. Many have revealed their plans and have partnered with local companies in their bid to secure a Japanese casino license.
