Parx Casino Launches Its $10 Million Sportsbook

Parx Casino in Pennsylvania has launched its $10 million sportsbook on Thursday, earlier this week.

The $10 million sports betting area features a 155-feet wide television screen airing games from across various leagues and also a full bar that hosts 40 seats and 150 recliners for visitors.

The gambling facility would be open throughout the day (24×7, seven days a week). There will also be a live teller service daily for about 10 and 16 hours. The venue hosts six live teller windows and 18 self-service betting kiosks.

Parx has also launched online sports betting. Matthew Cullen, Parx’s senior vice president of interactive gaming and sports, said that now it is time to focus on the online sports betting.

SugarHouse Casino and Parx are amongst the first two casinos to accept online sports betting wagers after they got the approval from Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

While the SugarHouse casino started offering online sports betting in June, Parx became the second casino in Pennsylvania to offer online sports betting which it launched in June.

Before the launch of online gambling in Pennsylvania, the Casino operators filed a lawsuit against online lottery operators alleging that the online lottery games resemble slot games and therefore could hamper their revenues.

However, the casino operators lost the lawsuit as the court allowed online lottery operators to continue with their lottery games.
