1xBet UK Site Pulled Off, Gambling Commission To Investigate

UK site of online gambling operator 1xBet has gone blank after the Sunday Times reported that the UK gambling commission has launched a regulatory investigation into the activities of the gambling operator.

1xBet was operating in the UK in partnership with gambling content and gaming technology services provider FSB Tech.
The 1xBet’s UK facing website displays a message which reads ‘this site is not currently available.’

While FSB Tech has confirmed that UK customers have no reason to worry as their account and balances are safe, it also said that they may consider their relationship with the online gambling operator. Their spokesman also emphasized that FSB Tech has fulfilled all regulatory obligations on their part.

The investigative report published in The Times alleged that some of 1xBet’s operations in other jurisdictions allowed betting on cockfights and also permitted wagers on under-19 athletic competitions.

Responding to the allegations, a 1xBet spokesperson told the Times that the company was not directly involved with these activities and that it could have been the fault of “third-party networks or partners.”

A recent report from the UK Gambling Commission reveals that the number of gamblers complaining against gambling companies in the UK has risen by about 5,000 percent in just five years.

While there were 8,266 complaints in 2018, in 2013 the UK gambling industry witnessed only 169 complaints against gambling companies.
