New Jersey posts a record online gambling revenue for the month of July. According to the figures released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the licensed online gambling operators in New Jersey grossed $39.3 million in revenue in July.
The July revenue figure represents a 52 percent year-on-year increase in revenue. What’s remarkable about July’s revenue that the online gambling market broke its previous record by generating over $200,000 more than the revenues generated in March, earlier this year.
Of all the casino properties, Golden Nugget grossed the highest revenue trailed by Resorts Digital Gaming. The Golden Nugget group generated $14.9m in July. Resorts Digital Gaming’s casinos generated $6.87m of which $626,000 came from online poker games.
While revenue from online casinos jumped 55.6% year-on-year to $37.4m in July online poker witnessed a tender gain of 2.1% year-on-year to $1.87m.
Overall revenue from online gambling in 2019 is up 55.2% to $256.8m. Online casino revenue is up 60.1% to slightly above $244 million. Revenue from online poker is down 2.1 percent to $12.7m.
Sports gambling has also been strong in New Jersey. Earlier this year in May, New Jersey bookmakers took in $318.9 million in sports bets. It was more than what any other state took in sports betting including Nevada.
