Betfair is making early preparations to enter the Brazilian gambling market if Brazil legalizes gambling. The gambling operator has announced a partnership deal with the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).
Following the deal, Betfair CONMEBOL’s official partner. While gambling is yet to be fully legalized in the Latin American country, some forms of sports betting are legalized.
As per the partnership deal, Betfair will now be able to display its logo in advertisements at stadiums, as well as through broadcast and social media channels.
In a statement about the new partnership, Betfair Head of Brands Stephen Mault said, “We are delighted to be the official betting partner of the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana.
These two prestigious tournaments have provided so many memorable moments in world football throughout the ages and we are very proud to be supporting the action for the next three years. We look forward to seeing how the rest of this year’s tournaments unfold.”
The commercial director for CONMEBOL, Juan Emilio Roa, said: “We are pleased to present Betfair as a partner of the CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana. With this important partnership, we add another global brand to the international status of South American football.”
Meanwhile, Lawmakers and politicians in Brazil are pushing for the legalization of gambling and casinos. Recently, senator Ciro Nogueira met with Economy Minister Paulo Guedes and spoke about the benefits of the regulated gambling market. Senator Nogueira has been vocal about legalizing gambling and casinos in the country.
