Swiss gambling regulator Eidgenössische Spielbankenkommission (ESBK) and Inter-Cantonal Lotteries and Betting Commission (Comlot) have both published the first list of blacklisted online gambling operators which are restricted from offering gambling products in the newly regulated Swiss gambling market.
Earlier with the overhaul of online gambling laws, the Swiss gambling authorities had announced to publish a list of restricted online gambling operators.
As the new Federal Act on Real-Money Gaming (Geldspielgesetz) has come into effect and the Swiss land-based casinos have launched online gambling operations the blacklist will keep away the companies which do not have the necessary permissions to offer gambling in the country.
Currently, two casinos, Grand Casino Luzern and Grand Casino Baden, have launched online operations.
Among those blacklisted are top gambling companies like Bet365, Betclic Everest Group, and Unibet. Several German brands including my bet, XTiP, and Cashpoint have also been put into a blacklist.
Esports betting operators such as Unikrn and GG.bet have also been blocked.
Before the launch of online gambling operations at Switzerland casinos, William Hill announced that it is not accepting wagers from its Swiss customers.
The UK-based bookmaker has issued a notice to all its existing customers in Switzerland that the operator is not going to accept any further wagers from mid-day on June 28.
