The specialist Anti-Kidnapping Group of the Philippine National Police has confirmed the arrest of eight people including two Chinese over Kidnapping charges.

Talking to the press, Lt. Col. Elmer Cereno said two Chinese nationals – Deng Shiwu, 30; and Ou Jiamin, 28, – were arrested in a gambling-related kidnapping case in Parañaque City.

The duo was allegedly involved in kidnapping Li Ning and Yang Yang who were held captive in a room at Okada Resort and Casino.

It is alleged that the suspects lured the victims by offering them a free three-day stay at the casino hotel for changing their money to casino chips.

After that, the victims transferred 1 million Chinese renminbi to the account provided by the suspects.
As such, the victims lost all the chips gambling and were offered a loan from a group.

However, upon waking up the following day in their casino hotel room victims found themselves locked in their room and felt threatened. Hey immediately called their friends in China to call the hotel’s service hotline.

Upon receiving the complaint, the hotel informed the Anti-Kidnapping Group of the Philippines National Police.
The PNP-AKG immediately organized a rescue and arrested two Chinese nationals.

Last month, the Philippines anti-gambling group (AKG) foiled a gambling debt kidnapping trap and arrested four Chinese nationals in Parañaque City.
