Mexican Gambling And Hospitality Giant Palace Resorts Announces Further Investments In Dominican Republic

Mexican hospitality and gambling giant Palace Resorts has confirmed that they will increase their investments in the Dominican Republic. The gambling operator is having a new casino resort built in Punta Cana. 

According to Giant Palace officials, the company will add 1,200 rooms more to the Moon Palace Punta Cana resort. The new casino resort is expected to start welcoming guests from 2021. With the additional 12,00 rooms to be added as per the increased investment plans, the property will host a total of 3,350 rooms. 

According to the initial plan, the Punta Cana integrated resort will boast a casino along with 20 restaurants, nine bars, seven swimming pools, a waterpark, a spa, and an 11,000sqm convention center. The gambling facility will also have a Golf course in the same complex. 

Palace Resorts’ ambitious Punta Cana project is expected to pull about 250,000 tourists annually to the country. 

Recently there has been a lot of negative publicity about gambling in the Dominican Republic. The country has also been said to be lax in security for foreign visitors. 

Responding to the bad press claims,   tourism minister Francisco Javier García said: “We can feel confident, that as a country, we have undertaken the necessary actions to counteract the recent events, and will always work towards continuing to improve, and especially prevent these situations from ever taking place again.”
