Twin River Tiverton Casino In Rhode Island will now remain open for 24 hours. Earlier the gambling venue would serve only for a few hours after midnight.
The Riverton town officials have approved the casino to remain open for wagering 24 hours.
Rhode Island which is also the smallest amongst the US states relies on gambling for most of its revenue. With the money flowing in the city officials see an opportunity to earn more tax revenue by allowing the gambling facility to accept wagers 24 hours.
Facing challenges, Twin River Worldwide, the company that owns and operates the two Twin-river casinos in the Lincoln and Tiverton turned to the state seeking more funds to mitigate the additional costs for marketing.
Amidst shrinking revenue and challenges from the neighboring Encore Boston Harbor casino, Rhode Island launched online sports betting operations earlier this month.
Recently, Twin River partnered with Camelot Lottery Solutions and tendered a joint proposal to operate the Rhode Island lottery system.
The two companies submitted their proposal to the offices of Rhode Island’s Governor, Speaker of the House and Senate President.
The gambling operator in its proposal has said that they would create 1,100 new jobs. Moreover, they have also given a $100 million guarantee. An investment of $75 million in development has also been promised.
