A fake bomb threat at the Twin River Casino has got a man arrested. Julio Santana, 23, of Worcester, has been arrested for making a false bomb threat. Santana called the police and said that he’d placed a bomb in the hotel of Twin River Casino.
The police acted swiftly and arrested the man. Santana has been charged with making a bomb threat, a false 9–1–1 call, and disorderly conduct.
The incident is reported to have taken place at about 9:30 pm on Thursday night.
“Officers were dispatched to Twin River Casino for a caller stating that he had placed a bomb on the third floor of the casino hotel,” said Detective Lt. Dana Packer of the Lincoln Police Department in court.
Following the fake threat call from Santana, the Police, fire, and the Providence Police Bomb Squad moved to the casino hotel. The accused told the police that he would await them at the entrance of the casino.
“He told dispatch he was in all black clothing,” explained Packer.
The police have said that upon seeing them arrive the accused ran towards them after which he was arrested.
During the investigation, Santana confessed that he has been suffering from schizophrenia for the last two years.
