Wind Creek Bethlehem formerly known as Sands Bethlehem has officially begun operations after the rebranding. The property which now belongs to Wind Creek Hospitality and PCI Gaming Authority of Alabama’s Poarch Band of Creek Indians was purchased from gambling giant Las Vegas Sands.
“Our team has worked to preserve what makes the property a special part of the Bethlehem community while introducing the Wind Creek brand, our Wind Creek Rewards program, and our focus towards guest service,” Jay Dorris, the Wind Creek President, and Chief Executive said.
The gambling operator has spent about $15 million in rebranding. Wind Creek also plans a hotel which will host between 400 and 450 rooms.
The property was taken over by Wind Creek Hospitality the entertainment arm of Alabama’s Poarch Band of Creek Indians for $1.3 billion.
The group has announced that they would be spending $15 million in the rebranding of the property over a period of three months.
This would also involve replacing a 3,187-square-foot Sands sign with a 3,880-square-foot sign with the Wind Creek name and logo.
The purchase of the Sands Casino has been the biggest purchase made by Wind Creek so far.
The casino resort hosts 282 hotel rooms, a 183,000 square foot casino floor with 3,000 slots and electronic table games, 200 table games and a 150,000 square foot retail mall.
The property is located just 80 miles from New York.
