Casinos in Nevada have performed par expectations in September. The casinos grossed $1.06 billion in winnings las month. While the figure represents a record high for 2019 according to the state gambling regulators the September figure also represents record key index of state fiscal health.
According to the figures released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board Nevada casinos posted a 6.8% year-on-year increase in the monthly gaming win.
It was also the fourth consecutive month when monthly revenue for Nevada casino gambling industry surged when compared with the same periods for the previous year.
Last time when the casino posted a drop in winnings was in May earlier in the year when the casino winnings were down nearly 6 percent for the same period the previous year. The casinos in Nevada had won approximately $982 million from gamblers in May.
Commenting on the performance Board analyst Michael Lawton said: “It was the fifth billion-dollar month for the year and the highest September in state history. We’re trending nicely after a slow start for the year.”
According to Lawton, the strong performance of Nevada casinos can be attributed to an increase in slot machine play and results from casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding Clark County.
While Casino baccarat winnings increased 54% year on year to $38 million, Casino winnings on slot machine play increased $52.7 million statewide during the month, up 8.3% compared with September 2018.
The state took about $66.4 million in taxes on the September 2019 figures.
