Gaming content services and social casino operator, the Design Works Gaming Group (DWG) has secured a license to launch in the UK gambling market.
The group was granted necessary permissions by the UK Gambling Commission. Following the approval, the DWG will now be able to supply GB facing online casinos with its portfolio of games and related tools.
The DWG is seeking to ink commercial agreements in the new market.
Andy Harris, CEO of DWG UK, said: “We are delighted to have been granted our GB license, which marks a very important milestone in our development as an international provider of casino content.
“Being licensed by the Gambling Commission is the start of an exciting period for DWG, and we are confident that with our portfolio of varied and validated content we will hit the ground running as we look to gain serious traction on this side of the Atlantic.”
DWG, as a land-based supplier, has had content-based agreements with some of the top companies in the industry, including Novomatic, Aristocrat, Konami, and IGT.
For UK-based gambling operators, the domestic market has been taking a toll on their revenues because of the stricter regulations introduced by the gambling regulator.
Recently, a group of British parliamentarians called for introducing a maximum stake limit for online casino games as well. The call to extend the maximum stake limit to the online market has drawn a lot of flak from gambling operators in the country.
