Junket operator Suncity Group has confirmed that it will launch its Vietnam integrated resort, Hoiana, in the first quarter of the coming year.
The operator has said that they are already working on the launch of the first phase and work is progressing fast.
Speaking to Inside Asian Gaming, Suncity’s Assistant Vice President of Marketing Communications, James Wong, said: “We are looking at the first quarter, most likely late February or March.”
The Hoiana, is a joint venture between Suncity, VMS Investment Group and Vietnam’s VinaCapital Group.
Commenting on the company’s strategy to tap into casino gambling Wong told IAG, “We have been getting experience for the last 12 or 13 years in providing high-level service, so we’ve got the skill, we’ve got the database, we’ve got all the software, which makes us ready to be an operator.
“Now we are testing the hardware. Obviously one of the main reasons is that when we have our own hardware we have better control to entertain our guests and provide a more unique experience.
“Under the leadership of Mr Alvin Chau, this is the strategy of Suncity Group.”
Earlier in October this year, Suncity announced that it has acquired a majority stake in Manila-based Suntrust Home Developers. Suntrust is to co-develop and operate a casino resort in Manila.
Suntrust has already signed an agreement to develop a casino hotel. It revealed the plans for the proposed casino hotel which would host 400 beds, about 400 gaming tables, and 1,200 slot machines.
