The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has partnered with Clarion Gaming and Sigma to host a South East Asia Gaming Summit in Manila. The gaming expo is scheduled to take place in June 2020.
PAGCOR would host one of its kind South East Asia-focussed gaming summit which will take place at the SMX Convention Center on June 8-9.
It is expected that over 10,000 members of the gaming industry would attend the expo. Clarion Gaming’s Kate Chambers expects highly of the event and said that it would meet the needs of the Asian Gaming community.
Talking about the gaming expo she said: “Business development is driven by productive partnerships such as the one that we have in place with PAGCOR. I am extremely grateful for PAGCOR’s support and look forward to establishing a long and productive relationship.”
Eman Pulis, founder of SiGMA Group also expressed excitement about the upcoming event and the partnership with PAGCOR.
PAGCOR currently operates 47 casinos in the country. It has been drawing a lot of criticism as PAGCOR-operated casinos continue to underperform. There have been voices concerning the privatization of casinos gaining grounds in the Philippines.
In its recent report, The Philippines’ National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said that it would be better to privatize PAGCOR-operated casinos.
However, following the criticisms, in October PAGCOR posted a double-digit increase in revenue for the first nine months to September 30, 2019.
