The Star Gold Coast Unveils 10 Days Of Off-track Celebrations

The Star is set to unleash a thrilling line up of glamorous off-track events and entertainment as part of 2020 The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival when it kicks off this weekend, including two new additions to the calendar – a ‘Women with Horsepower’ lunch and a celebrity charity poker tournament.

Celebrating its second year as Principal Partner and Naming Rights Sponsor, The Star Gold Coast is gearing up for its inaugural Women with Horsepower event, delivered in partnership with Frizelle Sunshine Automotive and Magic Millions, that will see 40 high-profile women including Zara Tindall MBE, Katie Page and Delfina Blaquier take part in a half-day luxury vehicle drive and lunch experience.

The 2020 Carnival will also see the first The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Charity Poker Tournament on Friday January 10, where VIPs, celebrities and guests will go stack to stack to raise funds for Cancer Council Queensland at the recently launched and state-of-the-art Star Poker facility.

These two new events will add to a bumper 10-day program of equine and social moments including the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo on Sunday January 5 and the $10.25 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday on Saturday January 11.

Following a recently unveiled new menu and revitalized dining space, The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar will be the official off-track venue throughout the Carnival to continue celebrations and rub shoulders with A-list celebrities, racing identities and international ambassadors, with free shuttle bus services running between The Star and Magic Millions Polo on Sunday, January 5.

With an increased calendar of moments set to build on the success of the 2019 edition of the iconic event, The Star Gold Coast Chief Operating Officer Jess Mellor said the stage was set to welcome tens of thousands of racing enthusiasts, VIPs and visitors to the region for an even bigger The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival for 2020.

“The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival promotes the world-class tourism and hospitality on offer on the Coast and we are incredibly proud to be part of a major event that has bolstered the city’s reputation on the world stage,” Jess said.

“We look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to the Gold Coast for 10 incredible days of equine and racing action complimented by world-class hospitality, entertainment, dining and five-star accommodation at The Star Gold Coast.”

Adding to the calendar of off-track events will be The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival ambassadors Jett Kenny and Abbey Way, with the glamorous pair set to bring the key moments of the 10-day celebration to life.

Channel 7 presenter Abbey Way said guests at The Star Gold Coast were in for an unforgettable off-track experience in celebration of Magic Millions.

“The Magic Millions Carnival is easily one of my favorite events of the year. The whole feel on track is so unique to the Gold Coast and unlike anything I’d ever experienced,” Abbey said.

“Off-track, The Star is the only place to be to kick on and keep the celebrations going.”

Jett said he was looking forward to celebrating his first Magic Millions Carnival with The Star Gold Coast.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of this year’s Magic Millions with The Star,” Jett said.

“We have so much in store for guests this year and I can’t wait to kick off the Carnival starting with the Polo this weekend.”

With a sensational 10-day program including pop-up bars, live entertainment, luxurious 5-star accommodation and a series of award-winning dining experiences on offer, The Star Gold Coast will be the thrilling heartbeat of the 2020 The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival.
