Johan Rikner Appointed Leo Vegas' New Digital Marketing Director

Online gambling and betting operator LeoVegas AB has announced Johan Rikner as its new Digital Marketing Director. The Stockholm-listed gambling operator has been making changes to its marketing team and this is just another fresh appointment to a key position.

The company’s new Digital Marketing director had been working with Nordic native and press advertising publisher Nyheter365. Nyheter365 was later acquired by the Stockholm marketing group Mediaplanet back in 2017.

It is reported that as a part of the appointment terms Rikner would continue to be Chief Digital Officer (2018-2019) and a board member of Mediaplanet. He would be tasked with monitoring the development and strategy of Nyheter365 and also of other publishing assets of Appelberg and Newsner.

Rickner also brings gambling industry experience. He previously worked with online sports betting operator Bwin. He worked with the operator as Swedish Country Manager.

Leo Vegas has been restructuring its top-level management team. The operator recently made appointed former Kindred Group Swedish General Manager Dersim Sylwan as a new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Commenting on the appointment Rickner said that he was excited about his new role.

“I really like LeoVegas’ culture and that there is such a consistent commitment to being data-driven. In fact, it is reminiscent of how we did it at News365.

“I have some experience in building a data-driven organization and I hope to use it to help LeoVegas not only be King of Casino but also King of Digital Marketing.”

Leo Vegas has been making efforts to up its game in the market. While the gambling operator has secured licenses to operate in several newly regulated gambling markets in Europe, it has also been focusing on gon improving customer engagement.

Last year in November, Leo Vegas inked a deal with B2B marketing platform provider BlueRibbon Software to enhance customer engagement across its platforms.
