Online gambling and betting operator has confirmed the launch of a sportsbook expanding its presence in the UK betting market. The gambling operator has also launched with an exclusive offer for new players wherein they claim to give a ‘Bet £10 and get £10 Free Bet.’
Casumo’s UK Country Manager Greg Tatton-Brown said: “It’s a clear and straightforward offer, which is aligned with the experience that the product has been developed to provide – sports betting made simple.
“I am excited to be able to bring Casumo’s approach to UK sports fans. We have put the player front and center in the development of a sportsbook product that is approachable and user-friendly.”
Casumo was founded in 2012 and since then the company has expanded its footprints in several regulated online gambling markets across Europe.
While the UK gambling and betting industry is facing challenges given the stringent regulatory measures, given the fact that Casumo is based out of Malta it would be more challenging for the company in the UK market.
Malta-based operators have been infamous for failing to ensure compliance related to money laundering and terrorist financing and that puts them on top of the list of “bad operators” by the UK Gambling Commission.
Last year in October, at the ARQ Compliance Conference at the Westin in St Julian’s, UKGC Chief Neil McArthur had revealed some key findings of a report into compliance.
According to the report, just under half of the 45 operators asked to complete an action plan were based in Malta.
“In a nutshell, what we have found as we undertake compliance activity has not been good enough,” UKGC chief had said slamming the Malta Gaming Authority for being lax in implementing stricter anti-money laundering measures.
