The betting odds have been slashed for both fighters Eleider ‘Storm’ Alvarez and Michael ‘Cannon Handz’ Seals as they prepare to face off against each other in a ‘too close-to-call’ bout.
Turning Stone Resort Casino, which is owned by Oneida Indian Nation – a federally recognised tribe of Oneida people in Verona, New York is hosting the Light Heavyweight Contest next Saturday 18th January 2020.
The award winning casino, which was named ‘Best Overall Gaming Resort in New York’ in 2017 will see the two fighters, who both have 24 wins under their belt go head to head next weekend.
Alvarez, who is ranked 4th in the world compared with Seals 70th place ranking, has been the favourite from the off, but odds on both fighters have been slashed as bets have been pouring in.
This is in part due to Seals being the most recent of the two to showcase their talent in a boxing match that saw Seals comfortably see off Argentinean fighter Elio Heraldo Trosch in October last year.
Eledier Alvarez is looking to bounce back after his last fight ended in a defeat in February 2019 to Russian Sergey Kovalev.
“I am very happy to get back in the ring after this long layoff… I am looking to reboot my career against a strong puncher, and begin my campaign to once again be on top of the boxing world”.
Both fighters are equally matched in strength and speed, though Seals has both the height and reach advantage. Seals is known for his explosive power and currently has 18 knock-out victories behind him.
Odds are currently closely split, but are expected to fluctuate again before next week’s contest, which fans can watch live on ESPN.
