Cashino, which is part of Praesepe Holdings Ltd and owned by German gambling company Gauselmann, is a British gaming brand that owns and operates over 100 high street gaming centres throughout the UK.
The local council has received proposals to convert the premises operated by Ladbrokes Coral, a London based British betting and gambling company to a 24 hour gaming venue.
If proposals are approved, the gambling firm will operate the high street casino 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
A spokesperson for Merkur Cashino commented on plans and vision for the brand:
“The use will contribute to a wider diversification of uses, while helping to improve the evening and night-time economy. The proposed change of use is considered to be a proactive response to the changing retail and town centre environment, which is reflected in national policy and guidance documents”
Bidwells, which is the independent property consultancy firm handling the application process disputed criticism over the gambling firms 24-hour operating license:
“24-hour operation will not have a negative impact because there are no residential properties in close to the site”.
