Global betting odds have been updated Monday 20th January 2020 and sportsbooks have put Kansas City Chiefs as favourite to win the 2020 Super Bowl LIV versus the San Francisco 49ers.
This year’s championship game, which marks the end of the 100th season of the National Football League will take place on the 2nd February 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, home of the Miami Dolphins.
Hard Rock Stadium, formerly Dolphin Stadium; sold the rights to name it to Hard Rock Cafe Inc in 2016 for two-hundred and fifty million dollars over eighteen years. The brand is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which also owns and operates a total of eleven casino establishments.
The 2020 Super Bowl will be the first one since 2013 for the San Francisco 49ers who lost in a close 34-31 game at Super Bowl XLVII. Whereas it will be the Kansas City Chiefs’ first since 1970; where they won the match 23-7 against Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV.
The championship match, who’s halftime show will be co-headlined by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, is set to be one of the tightest in modern Super Bowl history.
Sportsbooks odds are set to fluctuate over the next week as the event draws closer, but currently Kansas City Chiefs are favourite at odds of 4/5 on average, whereas San Francisco 49ers are at 21/20.
Although it is early days, the spread, or margin, is extremely narrow at just +1.5 to -1.5.
Other Super Bowl odds available include first touchdown scorer, of which Damien Williams is favourite at 6/1. Raheem Mostert second favourite at 13/2 and Travis Kelce joint third favourite at 15/2 with Tyreek Hill.
Kansas City Chiefs are also tipped to be winning at both half time and at full time with odds of around 6/4 on average.
Super Bowl LIV will be the first time Kansas City Chiefs have faced San Francisco 49ers and whilst Chiefs are out in front as favourites, it is the 49ers who lead the regular season series seven to six. The two teams did not face enough on the road to the Super Bowl 2020.
