The Pegasus World Cup has been one of America’s leading thoroughbred horse races since 2017 and since the legalisation of sports betting in the US sees millions wagered on the event from around the country, including US states Nevada, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
This year will make history on the horse racing calendar as the once one million dollar entry fee is now free for the first time.
Frankie Dettori, who is on the day’s racing card, will ride horse ‘Without Parole’; a British Thoroughbred racehorse with 10 wins on record and a total earnings of almost three million dollars.
Without Parole, trained by John Gosden had its last race in November 2019 and is currently favourite at odds of 5/2 on average. Second and third favourites are Magic Wand and Mo Forza at odds of 7/2 and 11/2 on average respectively.
Trainer John Gosden today commented at Newmarket today:
“Frankie is going out to ride at the Pegasus Cup meeting this weekend and wanted to come in and get a decent blow in – and he did just that.”
