Melbourne – Kahle Burns has today been crowned champion of the 2020 Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge in Melbourne, Australia.
The event, which took place at the Crown Melbourne establishment, was witness to the achievement by the Teesdale-born Australian.
Kahle Burns commented on his victory and what he thinks of the tournament:
“This is the first tournament I’ve won on the Aussie Millions circuit and obviously it’s a fantastic one to win”.
Burns expanded on how the tournament unfolded and where his breakthrough came from in the match:
“It was a pretty gross spot on the bubble for everybody involved… That sort of put me in an above-average stack spot and then I was able to accumulate some chips on the bubble”.
Kahle Burns’ remarkable win was witnessed by some of his close friends and family who watched on intently:
“I actually didn’t tell any of my friends I made the final table… They were nice enough to come down and support me so, yeah, it’s a great feeling to do well in front of them and give them something to watch and enjoy.”
Burns was the only Australian poker player in the top 7 finishers, with three players from the US, one from Malaysia and others from the UK and Canada.
First place saw Burns take a massive sum of almost $1.2 million with second and third place going to Alex Foxen and Aaron Van Blarcum, scooping more than $760k and $500k respectively.
Kahle Burns finished by giving an insight in to his strategy without giving too much away:
“My style is; I can run up a big stack early in tournaments… And if you have a big stack on the bubble or around the money, you can push that towards not dwindling at the final table.”
The Aussie Millions tournament concludes tomorrow with the Main Event Final Table at midday Melbourne, Australia.
