Today it has been announced that the Japan Gaming Congress will be held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on the 8th June 2020 instead of the traditional home of Tokyo.
The Japan Gaming Congress (JgC) is an annual event, held over a number of days with the primary aim of being an educational forum focused on the education and understanding of casino legislation in Japan.
Since the government of Japan announced plans to introduce legal gambling in the form of integrated resorts, the JgC’s mission has been to bring people together from both sides of the debate to better understand the subject of gambling in the East Asian country.
Typically held in Tokyo, the year 2020 will be the first time the event is held elsewhere as organisers – Clarion Events – aim to reach out to a larger audience by forming as part of ICE Asia – dubbed ‘the largest international stage for land based and online gaming technologies in Asia’ – and SiGMA Asia.
Event Director of ICE Asia Stuart Dacre commented:
“ICE Asia will bring world-class technology and a new horizon for gaming in the region.”
Dacre expanded on the importance of bringing people together and being part of such a large event:
“We are bringing everything you would expect from an ICE branded event, whilst activating local gaming communities across Asia.”
Clarion Events, established in 1947, is a global event organiser which specialises in organising conferences, exhibitions and tradeshows, particularly for the gaming and technology industries.
