Philippines – Casino Filipino, owned and operated by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, remains closed more than a month after the Taal Volcano eruption that took place in the middle of January 2020.
The Taal Volcano, a large cauldron-like void filled by Taal Lake on Luzon island in the Philippines, erupted from the main crater on Volcano Island, 43 years after its last major eruption.
Due to the threat of further eruptions and ongoing volcanic activity, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation said that the casino venue would remain closed as thousands of people have been evacuated from the region.
“It may be recalled that operations of the casino branch temporarily suspended in the aftermath of Taal Volcano’s eruption last January 12, 2020. The building is currently undergoing structural and electrical checks to guarantee safety of the entire premise. Resumption of operations will be announced in this website as soon as the date is confirmed”
Tagaytay is one of the Philippines most popular tourist destinations and home of Casino Filipino.
