Sports Betting Odds Slashed On Cheltenham Festival Favourite

UK – As Day two of the Cheltenham Festival gets set to begin, bookmakers have slashed betting odds on Cheltenham Festival favourite Tiger Roll to between 4/5 and 5/6 on average.

Tiger Roll is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who competes in National Hunt racing and won the UK Grand National, a National Hunt horse race held annually at Aintree Racecourse, in 2018 and 2019.

The thoroughbred champion horse is set to race in today’s 4.10pm meeting UK time in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase meeting.

UK horse racing expert and thoroughbred correspondent spoke about the horse’s chances today:

“Gone are the days when many punters used to head to the bars whilst the Cross Country Chase was run and the revival is all down to one horse – Tiger Roll. The dual winner was many people’s idea of the meeting’s banker a year ago and he is an even shorter price to create history this time around.”

However, at the end of last year, Tiger Roll sustained an injury and underwent surgery to remove a chip from a joint in a leg, which means that there is a chance another horse in the meeting will pip the horse to the post. Second favourite horse Easysland is in phenomenal form of late and will be clipping the heels of Tiger Roll later today.

Today’s Cheltenham Race Meetings:

  • 1.30pm – Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle
  • 2.10pm – RSA Insurance Novices’ Chase
  • 2.50pm – Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle
  • 3.30pm – Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase
  • 4.10pm – Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase 3m 6f
  • 4.50pm – Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle 2m 87y

Tips and Picks

Odds have also been updated on today’s top picks at all of the other six meetings, including: Envoi Allen, Sporting John, Minella Indo, Dame De Compagnie, Defi Du Seuil, Palladium and Appreciate It.

A favourite win accumulator with today’s top picks returns 12.8k from a stake of 10 on average.

Today’s biggest race is undoubtedly The Queen Mother Champion Chase, but with non-runner Chacun Pour Soi being pulled from the race the favourite Defi Du Seuil looks a shoe in at 4/11 odds.
