It has been announced today that multinational gambling company that produces slot machines and other gambling technology; International Game Technology, has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer; Massimiliano ‘Max’ Chiara, following a four month long search.
The appointment comes three months after Alberto Fornaro announced his resignation from the role in favour of a move to South Korean e-commerce firm founded in 2010, and the largest online retailer in South Korea; Coupang.
The firm also confirmed that Chiara, subject to shareholder approval, will be added to the board of directors as an executive director.
Marco Sala, chief executive officer for IGT commented on the appointment:
“We are excited to have Max join the IGT team, both as a member of my senior leadership team and as a board member.”
Sala spoke highly of Chiara:
“His broad and deep background in all facets of global finance and operations, in addition to his high standards of excellence, will be tremendous assets to our organization.”
Max Chiara shared similar sentiments as he added:
“It is a great honour to be joining an iconic gaming industry leader. I look forward to working with IGT’s strong leadership team and assisting the company in achieving its strategic and financial goals.”
International Game Technology has also appointed Beatrice Bassey as an independent director, of which chairman Lorenzo Pellicioli shared his enthusiasm:
“Beatrice’s extensive experience in the highly dynamic and regulated banking sector, in addition to her extensive international exposure, are valuable perspectives to add to IGT’s board. Paget has been instrumental in supporting IGT and the board during many chapters of the company’s history. We would like to thank Paget for his many years of service to IGT.”
