USA – A gaming firm based in The Centennial State and operator of eleven casino establishments in Colorado, Missouri, West Virginia, Alberta, and England; Century Casinos, has today been granted a license to undertake sports betting activities in Colorado.
The firms subsidiaries were granted three Sports Betting Master Licenses during a special meeting that took place between the company and the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission.
The Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission is a five-member regulatory body appointed by the Governor and responsible for promulgating all the rules and regulations governing limited gaming in Colorado, including the establishment of the gaming tax rate.
The Commission also has final authority over all gaming licenses issued in the state. By law, the Commission is made up of members from different professional, political and geographic backgrounds.
Limited Gaming Control Commission also awarded Circa Sports Colorado LLC, the Company’s partner for one of its Master Licenses, with a temporary Internet Sports Betting Operator License.
According to reports, a meeting is scheduled to take place on the 1st of May 2020 with regards to implementing license terms and activities.
However, the firm has stated that due to the impact of coronavirus, it is uncertain of the timeline that the mobile sports betting app will launch.
Following the news, stocks and shares in the company have risen almost ten percent immediately after landing sports betting licenses from the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission.
Century Casinos also operates casinos on cruise ships for Diamond Cruise International, TUI, and Windstar. Last year the firm bought the operating businesses of three casinos in Missouri and West Virginia from Eldorado Resorts for $107 million.
