Co-founder and chairman of Green Jade Games, a Maltese firm established in 2017 and known for its titles including; Spoils of War, Hammer of Fortune and Spin Bet Station, has spoken out about the challenges his and other iGaming companies face during the current Covid-19 pandemic and how firms should embrace change brought about by the crisis.
Jesper Kärrbrink, who has more than 25 years experience as a CEO in media, gaming and e-commerce, shared his thoughts and views on the ongoing Coronavirus crisis at a virtual event showcased on the organisations social media pages.
Kärrbrink praised health workers who are fighting the global virus pandemic and spoke about saving jobs in the event of a second wave, along with stating that now is the ‘most important time to promote responsible gaming to the top of the agenda’ given the fact that people will be looking on at the industry’s actions.
Jesper Kärrbrink said:
“We’ve seen what happened in Latvia, temporarily suspending gaming licences. We’ve seen the measures in Belgium and Portugal, last week the Swedish government came out with enforced regulations on deposit levels. This is happening, the more money we are making the easier it will be for them to implement restrictions like this.
This is a perfect opportunity to put responsible gaming on top of the agenda to show that we care, to show that we take our responsibility and that we, at some point, look back on in a couple of years and see things we missed and what put us in this situation and that is very important.
It’s our responsibility as managers and leaders to embrace change, to take the positive parts of this crisis with us in the post crisis era. We need to see how we can improve from this, and the one industry that I can see as doing this is the iGaming industry.”
Green Jade Games are a games development company, building industry influencing content, on the way to re-shaping the iGaming industry.
