A holding firm based in Madrid, Spain; Carousel Group, has announced that it is to offer sports betting services in the US state of Colorado via the venue Johnny Nolon’s Casino following the granting of a license, the first of the sates to do so.
The brand being launched; SportsBetting, will offer residents in The Centennial State the opportunity to wager on sports such as soccer, NFL, NHL and horse racing among other markets, both online and on mobile.
Daniel Graetzer, chief executive officer of Carousel commented on the news:
“Despite the ongoing and tragic global crisis, we couldn’t be more confident and optimistic about the sports industry and we’re very excited to be bringing our flagship brand to the American market. While other entities have closed their doors and laid off employees, we’re hiring staff and expanding our operations into the United States.”
The new sports betting brand will launch on the firm’s own in-house platform and is the first move in the company’s expansion in to the US gambling industry, of which Carousel plan to expand.
According to reports, the firm plans to open offices in Colorado and New Jersey later in 2020.
Graetzer, who founded the company three years ago in 2017 added:
“We have built our business upon a team with years of experience in the industry combined with our own technology, which gives us a huge advantage over the competition. It’s in our DNA to be innovative and with our own technology we will offer something fresh, exciting and very customer oriented to the U.S. betting community.”
Betting in Colorado will be provided at Johnny Nolon’s Casino, a business in operation since 1991 with over 250 gaming machines and a 24 hour restaurant to serve patrons around the clock.
Managing Director of Johnny Nolon’s Casino David Minter concluded:
“We are delighted to be partnering with such an emerging, dynamic and technologically driven company such as Carousel Group and are very excited about this partnership. Johnny Nolon’s Casino was the first casino to open for casino gambling in Cripple Creek on Oct 1, 1991 and we are looking forward to now finally be able to offer sports betting.”
Wagering on sports is new in Colorado and has been legalised less than a year, following the passing of a vote last year in November 2019.
