In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be many suggestions and proposals for how businesses in the hospitality industry, including casinos and resorts, can return to normal operation.
One suggestion is that casino staff at venues around America and the rest of the world could make use of a safe social distancing device known as the Safe Spacer, which is a lightweight piece of technology that can be worn on the wrist, like a watch.
The device monitors the distance of individuals in a space of 2 metres, or 6 foot, and alerts the person wearing it by sounding, flashing or vibrating to let them know that another person has come within the recommended safe distance.
The patent pending device uses ultra-wideband technology and algorithms and has been designed with the Covid-19 pandemic in mind to provide individuals with peace of mind and potentially allow businesses to operate safely.
At present, Safe Spacer is being used by factory workers in affected countries but could soon be introduced to the casino industry as part of recovery measures for the re-opening of venues in Europe and the USA.
The company states:
“We created Safe Spacer to help our Italian factory workers maintain safe distance during re-opening. It’s easy to use, fast to deploy, private, and secure, so it can be used comfortably in any situation. We hope this solution helps other companies feel secure as they re-open, too.”
Many casino corporations around the world are currently working on a plan whilst liaising with government and health officials and the new device could be introduced in to casinos as early as July 1st.
