US sports betting continues to grow and expand as global sports betting operator bet365 has struck a deal with Century Casinos to provide online and mobile sports betting services in the state of Colorado.
An agreement has concluded and been finalised between the two gaming firms that will see bet365 become Century Casinos’ second sports betting partner in The Centennial State.
According to reports, Century Casinos already has its operating license in the state through its subsidary brand and upon bet365 completing the state application and approval process with officials, wagering on sporting events can begin. bet365 plans to operate both online and on mobile in Colorado under its primary sporting brand of bet365.
Details of the agreement have not yet been fully disclosed between Century Casinos and bet365, however, the deal is a ten year agreement that will guarantee a minimum yearly revenue figure and a share of the net gaming revenue will be payable to Century Casinos annually, with an upfront payment being made upon signing of the contracts.
Century casinos currently holds three master licenses for sports betting operations in Colorado with two now being occupied and one remaining for another partnership deal potentially on the cards.
Sports betting in Colorado was legalised in November 2019 but has only become effective witin the past month. The deal between Century Casinos and bet365 is the latest deal in the US for internet wagering on sports as a number of sports look to resume play following the prolonged suspension due to Covid-19.
Betting on sports is still illegal in more than 30 US states. However, the growing industry suggests that at least half these may legalised some form of sports betting over the next five years.
